Garbo Rose2015 GARBÓ ROSÉ

The Grape

All of the grapes for Garbó are estate grown in the hills of Marçá, D.O. Montsant. The vineyards are planted in a mixture of granite, sand, calcareous and slate soils. This wide diversity of soils is reflected in a range of soil color, from bright orange to snow white and earth grey. The grapes benefit from warm days with dramatic temperature swings from day to night. The vines ranges from 25 - 40 years old and are planted anywhere from 500 - 1,300 feet about sea level.

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Garbó Rosé is a bright, pale pink that belies the mouthwatering cherry and raspberry fruit flavor and medium body that makes Garbó Rosé able to pair with a wide range of foods. The Garnacha particularly brings a rich texture that provides both subtlety & balance.

Food Affinities

The Garbó Rosé works beautifully with pan-Asian cuisine, pairing especially well with duck and hoisin sauce or even more chili-laced Southeast Asian dishes. It also works wonders with a humble fish taco or fried chicken.

"This wine's red fruit has a radiant acidity that makes it feel almost luminous. It's particularly palate-whetting, especially with a Valencian fideuĂ , like paella except with thin noodles in place of rice."
