Morlanda Crianca

Rich, concentrated and powerful, Morlanda demonstrates an intimate and profound understanding of the extreme terroir of Spain's Priorat. Crafted at our Viticultors del Priorat estate in the tiny village of Bellmunt del Priorat, Morlanda is made solely from estate-grown fruit, hand-harvested from vines planted on rocky slopes and plateaus at altitudes between 500-700 feet. The winery sits on 170 acres, with 47 acres of vineyard planted primarily with Garnacha and Cariñena vines, many of which are between 25 and 40 years old. In the skilled hands of our winemaking team, the concentrated fruit from these vines result in wine of great character: big, dense and succulent, yet structured and balanced with a distinctive minerality born of this unique and singular terroir.

Morlanda is part of the Ferrer Family Wines of ultra-premium wines, selected to showcase the finest vineyards and leading DOs (Denominaciónes de Origen) of Spain.

"A jammy pulpy palate...with flavors of plum, raisin and prune that are fully ripe, while ending notes of licorice and fleshy berry fruits run long and steady."

91 POINTS - 2009 Vintage
"Intense, heady cherry and blackberry aromas are minerally on one hand and sweet like marzipan on the other. This textbook Garnacha-Carignan blend is tight on the palate, with live-wire berry, plum, earth and mineral flavors. Only on the finish does a touch of raisiny richness rise up; drink through 2017."
